Infrastructure Modernization

Build for what’s next.

Rebuild your compute, storage, and data center foundation so it’s ready for production AI and hybrid operations.

Your infrastructure wasn’t built for this.

Three pressures are converging: Production AI demands compute, network, and storage that most existing environments can’t deliver. Hybrid operations require infrastructure that flexes between owned hardware and cloud, which legacy estates were never architected to do. And the longer aging infrastructure stays in service, the more it costs to maintain and the more risk it carries.

Together, they leave the business running on a foundation it’s already outgrown.

The OnX approach

Modernize what works. Replace what doesn’t.

OnX modernizes across your infrastructure, so compute and storage are sized for today’s workloads and the AI demands around the corner. We help you create a data center strategy for retaining or replacing your resources. And we run it as one lifecycle, assessing against existing workloads, designing the right mix of owned, hybrid, and as-a-service infrastructure, and modernizing with minimal disruption. We can even operate it for continued performance.

Infrastructure Modernization capabilities

OnX helps organizations build infrastructure that’s ready for AI, flexible across owned and cloud, and built to scale.

AI-ready Infrastructure

AI-ready Infrastructure

GPU-capable compute, high-throughput networking, and storage sized to take AI from pilot to production, and to scale as adoption grows.

Hybrid Infrastructure

Hybrid Infrastructure

One environment that flexes between owned hardware and cloud, so each workload runs where it should.

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

Enterprise infrastructure consumed as a managed service, with predictable fixed-rate cost and OnX operating the environment for you.

Where to start

Advisory engagements

A OnX advisory is a time-bound, fixed-fee engagement designed to give you a clear answer to a specific strategic question — fast.

SD-WAN and SASE Architecture Assessment

Best for: Organizations weighing an SD-WAN or SASE move that want a vendor-neutral architecture and roadmap before they commit.

You walk away with:

  • An assessment of your current WAN and security edge vs. your business strategy
  • Recommended target-state SD-WAN/SASE architecture mapped to your sites, users, and cloud access
  • Prioritized gaps and risks, ranked by impact and cost
  • A phased, vendor-neutral roadmap to get there

What success looks like

Modern infrastructure pays off where the business feels it most: in speed, cost, and risk.

Business agility

Run production AI and hybrid workloads on a foundation built for them. The right mix of owned, hybrid, and as-a-service infrastructure lets you scale capacity where the business needs it without re-architecting every time.

Cost optimization

Modernize what still serves the business and replace what doesn't. Consuming infrastructure as a managed service with fixed-rate economics turns unpredictable capital cycles into predictable operating cost.

Reduced risk

The longer aging infrastructure stays in service, the more it costs and the more risk it carries. Modernizing the estate closes the gaps aging hardware leaves behind.

Frequently asked questions

What is enterprise infrastructure modernization? Enterprise infrastructure modernization is the work of rebuilding compute, storage, network, and data center foundations so they can support current and emerging workloads, including production AI and hybrid operations. It can mean upgrading on-premises hardware, moving workloads to managed or as-a-service infrastructure, or building a hybrid estate that spans both. OnX assesses the existing environment against required workloads, then designs and executes the right mix of owned, hybrid, and consumed infrastructure.
What makes infrastructure AI-ready?

AI-ready infrastructure provides the compute, network, and storage capacity that AI workloads require to run in production rather than only in pilots. That typically means GPU-capable compute, high-throughput networking, and storage sized for large datasets, engineered to scale as AI adoption grows. OnX AI-ready infrastructure services build that backbone so AI initiatives are not held back by the environment underneath them, and so the foundation can grow as models and data volumes expand.

What is the difference between IaaS and public cloud? Both IaaS and public cloud deliver infrastructure you consume rather than own. However, they differ in economics and management. Public cloud is typically billed by usage, which varies month to month, and the customer manages much of the environment. OnX Infrastructure as a Service is delivered as a managed service with predictable, fixed-rate economics, and OnX operates the environment for you. For workloads that don’t need public-cloud elasticity, managed IaaS often provides more predictable cost and less operational burden.
Do we have to replace all of our existing infrastructure to modernize? No. Modernization extends the life of infrastructure that still serves the business and replaces only what no longer does. OnX assesses each part of the estate against the workloads it supports, then recommends a path for each: upgrade in place, move to hybrid or managed infrastructure, or retire and replace. The goal is a foundation ready for production AI and hybrid operations, achieved without unnecessary rip-and-replace.
Why choose OnX for infrastructure modernization? OnX combines 700+ certified engineers, an HPE Triple Platinum Plus partnership, and decades of experience modernizing enterprise infrastructure environments. Clients benefit from vendor-agnostic guidance, local accountability, and one team that can assess, design, implement, and operate infrastructure across the full lifecycle.
